COLUMBIA RIVER COFFEE ROASTER

We've been roasting coffee since 1992! Founder Tim Hurd had been in the coffee industry for some time and was planning to come home to set up shop where he was raised, when he discovered a Royal #5 roaster in an antique store in Hebo, Oregon. After 15 years of steady growth and countless cups of coffee, we moved our company into a beautifully renovated historic building in the Uniontown district of Astoria.

We now roast a wide variety of coffees for a wide variety of coffee drinkers, on our Diedrich CR45 and IR7 roasters:  from more adventurous lighter roasts that highlight the inherent characteristics of each coffee to comforting, traditional dark roasts, and tasty blends in between.

All of our coffee is traceable to the source, through direct relationships or from co-ops of small farmers.

We've always been supporters of the local arts scene, and are firm believers in supporting community. You'll see our coffee caffeinating the events and offices of local organizations that are doing the important work around us:  CASA, VOCAThe Harbor, North Coast Land Conservancy, Astoria Warming Center, C.L. Performing Arts Center, Coast Community Radio - KMUN/KCPB , and more.

We also have fundraising opportunities for students who are ready to work for their education! For more information, contact nancy@crcrcoffee.com

Our Retail Shop:

Our roasting facility is currently open for freshly roasted beans, merchandise and brewing equipment. Come by Monday through Saturday, 9am-2pm to sample a couple of brews, maybe some iced coffee, and take a bag of fresh, tasty coffee home with you.

You can click here to see what's on the shelves right now. Purchase ahead to snag your bag, or just drop by during open hours. Otherwise, stay here on main site that has all our coffees available in all our bag sizes and we'll roast your beans to order (this requires time for roasting, packing, etc.).

If you're familiar with our brick and mortar space:  the coffee house that shared our building for 11 years decided to close in 2020. We're sad to say goodbye to them, but excited for their futures -- and ours in this space! We're taking time to re-imagine the way we use the building to really showcase what we do in the back. We've already been able to spread out our coffee lab and training area. Come say hello!
