Do you love coffee? Do you love people? Are you interested in being part of a brand new coffee house in Astoria? We at Columbia River Coffee Roaster are now hiring baristas to join our team!
A bit about you: Ideally, you love coffee, coffee-people, all people, and you’re curious. You lead by example, you’re creative, a problem solver, flexible, open to feedback, proactive, and eager to support the peers you work beside. We are looking for individuals who value warmth, collaboration, and community — and are ready to uphold our commitment to developing high standards of quality and organization. Prior specialty coffee experience is preferred, but not required. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
A bit about the role: The barista is all about hospitality while showcasing the extraordinary quality that Columbia River Coffee Roaster has to offer! You want and aspire to provide a memorable experience to each and every person who visits our coffee house. You are kind and welcoming to those you work with and serve, act with integrity and respect, work to create a safe, clean, and healthy work environment, provide quality beverages and food consistently, and share your knowledge and passion for our coffees. We are hiring for multiple positions, including one barista lead. The barista position will start at $18/hour plus tips and barista lead will start at $20/hour plus tips.
If you are interested in joining our team, please forward your resume and cover letter to avi@crcrcoffee.com. Or, drop by our retail space (279 W Marine Dr) Mon - Fri 9 AM - 2 PM.

QUESTION - What growing region in Guatemala is the most fun to say? ANSWER - Obviously it's Huehuetenango! (way-way-teh-nang-go). As satisfying as it is rolling off your tongue, the coffee that's grown there is equally as awesome in your cup! Right now we are highlighting a beautiful light/medium roast coffee from La Garita grown in the mountains above the tiny village of Hoja Blanca in Huehuetenango Guatemala by Don Petronilo and his family. We are featuring this coffee up front in our retail shop and it's also available on the website. Stop by and give it a try! Also please enjoy these gorgeous photos from Jon's visit to the farm in 2023! (Bonus points if you spot the cutest little mascot ;))

20 YEARS?! Jon was a mere babe of 21 when he first started working with us. And of our 30 years roasting, he and his unique blend of curiosity, intelligence, kindness and wry humor have been with us for 20 of them, as of last month -- and we couldn't feel luckier or more grateful. His musings on this momentous personal/professional milestone:
"Over the last 20 years I’ve packed, delivered, roasted, cupped, brewed, sourced and sold a lot of coffee! I’ve worked with some especially rad folks all across the supply chain. Producers, importers, warehouse/logistic wizards, truck drivers, delivery drivers, equipment suppliers, machine manufacturers, repair companies, wholesale customers of all types, website/retail customers and nerdy home coffee drinkers. What started as a job to pay the rent and fund my burrito addiction turned into a career that I love. Thankful for everyone I’ve met along the way and I’m looking forward to many more years doing what I love. Thank you Columbia River Coffee Roaster for the opportunity to do what I do over all these years. ☕️"
We love you, man.
Sometimes in the Pacific Northwest you take a canoe to pick up your coffee subscription at the post office…. And that’s pretty cool 😎☕️
